The Open Scroll - The Night Watch Report

The Night Watch Report

By Bob Schlenker  (Prints about 11 pages)

Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. How is it that you don't know how to interpret this present time?  Luke 12:56
In the interests of interpreting this present time, I am reporting my insights into the progression of the Night Watches. Now approaching the end of February 2001, I believe there is convincing evidence we are in the third watch of the night, and that the likelihood of our seeing the confirming sign for the church this upcoming April is very high. As I was in the process of updating this article (previously titled The Great Flood and the Great Divide of 2000) to bring it up to date with this present time in the third watch, I was shown the remarkable appearance of the third Creation Day theme in various passages I have exposited throughout this site that present the Bride Theft event in the third watch of the night. The Lord's continued goodness and grace is very much appreciated! I will assume you have already familiarized yourself with all the other material on this web site so this presentation will not be overly burdened with reestablishing the foundation. The principles upon which these comparisons are founded are laid out in The Master Overlay of Weeks, in which you find some overlap of material where appropriate. By my estimation, the watches of the night began on Yom Kippur, 5759 - September 30, 1998. By considering the pattern established in the historical and scriptural accounts of the Millennial and Creation weeks, a comparison can be made between the corresponding "days" with a focus on how these last 2 1/2 years match up. I think they match up pretty well.

The First Watch

Comparing the first watch of the night to the pattern established in the first day of the Creation week, (the year 5759) I noted a match in the matter of the introduction of light and the separation of the light from the darkness. My observations are obviously subjective because we are dealing with matters that must be spiritually discerned. You must also interpret the times by spiritual discernment.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning--the first day.Genesis 1:1-5
Light is a symbol of truth and it is the nature of God. Light becomes the nature of those who abide in the light. (1 John 1:7, Luke 11:34-36) In the first watch of the night, I noted that the separation of the light from darkness was the dominant theme for the year.
Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 5 You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6 So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.1 Thessalonians 5:1-11

The selection of the Bride out from among the body of Christ has been taking place. While the body of the last Adam sleeps, the last Eve has been being taken from that body, a Bride for the Bridegroom. The separation of those in the light from those in darkness has indeed been taking place. We in the light were obediently watching, self controlled, learning about times and dates and being prepared for battle by clothing ourselves with spiritual armor in the putting on of faith, love and the hope of salvation. I noted that those who were in the light were aware of this separation. The introduction of light was noted as the numbers of people becoming aware of the separation between believers increased.

Now, having considering the Creation Week pattern match, the first watch of the night will be compared with the first Millennial Day. I should note that the entire Creation Week was, of course, in the first Millennium, so for that reason alone (unity) there is a perfect match between the first Millennial Day and the first Creation Day patterns. Expanding our view to clearly identify the first Millennial Day pattern, following creation itself where a habitation was then prepared and inhabitants brought forth, perhaps the most relevant event of the first Millennial Day pertains to the commandment given by the Creator to the man whom he created, establishing a covenant between them. That covenant that was then broken found all parties involved in the breaking of the covenant receiving specific consequences that significantly affected all creation. This very issue is what the watches in the night are appointed to address so having its basis in the first millinnial Day makes it a primary theme to be sought in any investigation into the pattern's appearance in the corresponding night watch. Genesis 2 and 3 outline these events about which the restoration plan for the earth and mankind revolves, which, to refresh your memory you may want to take the time to read at this juncture. Insight into the matter of a covenant being the important issue of the first watch of the night is provided in the prophet Daniel's writing.
He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.  Daniel 9:27
We learn from verse 24 that these weeks which are the context of this covenant are of paramount importance - comparing to when Adam and Eve sinned in the garden in the first Millennial Day.
Seventy `sevens' [3] are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish [4] transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.  Daniel 9:24
So, was there such a covenant made in the year 5759? I believe so! On October 23rd, 1998, a day attended by certain celestial signs, influential men met at Wye Plantation and confirmed or strengthened a covenant, one made previously at Oslo on September 13th, 1993. The man primarily responsible, William Jefferson Clinton, has been shown by many proofs (by such as J.R. Church - Tickling the Tail of the Dragon) to be a prime candidate for the role. I believe this event was indeed foreshadowed in Daniel 9:27 and that it followed after the pattern of the millennial week. We have a match! Keep your eyes on the holy city, The Land and the people of The Land for signs, as Y'shua directed!

The Second Watch

I believe we can see the pattern of the second day established in the Creation and Millennial weeks in the second watch, the year 5760, as well.
And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning--the second day.  Genesis 1:6-8
Separation, as we saw in the first day's pattern, plus water are clearly the subjects of this passage. The waters are separated by the sky, which is the expanse created on that day. It is worth noting here that the sky is often associated with heaven. Hey, water below separated from the water above... isn't that like the flood that happened in the second Millennial Day? This correlation is so obvious it's impossible to miss!
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month--on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.  Genesis 7:11
Now, is there a match for the separation of waters above and below to be found in the second watch of the night? I think so, though what I observed was not what I had expected. First, I'll address at some length what I had perceived to be the primary issue, then I'll share some additional insight based upon hindsight. The Lord has been showing me His focus through these first three watches is upon his Bride and her preparedness. For a launching point, there is a verse in Lamentations that alludes to a "flood" in the directive to "pour out your heart like water," and directly references the time period of the early watches of the night.
Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint from hunger at the head of every street.   Lamentations 2:19
In my little corner of the world, my children were safe and well fed though I had heard from some more well traveled that there was danger and famine in other corners of the world. I'm not going to suggest that this verse was fulfilled in 5760 in that way because I honestly don't feel qualified to make such a judgment and reports I've heard didn't indicate that the situation was dramatically different fom other years. You may recall the threat of famine that loomed ahead while we awaited to see what January 1, 2000 would bring, threatened by the possibilities of the Y2K bug. I lot of people were pouring out their hearts about this matter, which might relate to the second watch "flood," or separation of water, but I don't really know. Concern about the perceived Y2K threat certainly caused the biggest stir I'd seen lately in our society. I feel that, having seen how the matter was handled by many directly involved in the Y2K bug remediation, the Lord sovereignly moved to spare us the tragic consequences of judgment for sin the world justly deserved at that time. Thank God for His mercy!

I hadn't expected a destruction of the world by water as there was in Noah's day, because the "rainbow" promise is our faithful assurance that will never happen again, (2 Peter 3) but I did expect some dramatic global events/ This expectation was based upon the intensely dramatic history of the second millennium. In this second Millennial Day, the flood of Noah's time was followed relatively shortly thereafter by two other important dividing incidents: The division of the physical habitation of this planet's land mass in the days of Peleg; The division amongst the inhabitants of this world according to their varying languages out from the Tower of Babel incident that happened in the plain of Shinar under Nimrod. The tower was destroyed and Peleg died in the same year, 1996 years from Adam near the close of the second Millennial Day.

I had searched the scriptures to find what kind of separation of waters of flood comes in the last days and discovered two items of interest. There is a parable, which is a lesson given in such a way as to hide the truth from some and reveal it to those with ears to hear, and a view provided through the types and shadows of the Gospel narrative. They are both about testing the church - proving it's character.
"Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? 47 I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49 But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."  Luke 6:46-49
The symbolism is pretty plain, the foundation built on rock is on Jesus Christ (See 1 Cor 3:9-17 and 10:4). The house is God's house, the temple (see also Hebrews 3) also known as the church which is the body of Christ. The flood tests the work of the men, whether or not the house they are building is built upon the foundation of the rock. This test by flood that divides the church separates them according to whether they do what he says. If they put the Lord's words into practice, the house is well built and the foundation is laid on rock. This house will not be shaken. On the other hand, the moment the torrent strikes the house built by the man who says "Lord, Lord," and does not do what he says, well... it will collapse and its destruction will be complete.

In the gospel of Matthew, there is a similar parable.
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.  Matthew 7:24-27
We read in this verse that the rain came down, the streams rose, language very much like we just read about from the Genesis flood account, where the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. In this parable, the foolish man builds his house on the sand. Wow! It has got to be some grand kind of house that would fall with a great crash on the sand! This parable is about the same kind of test as the one in Luke, testing the works of those who build their house.

I think the point was made that the tests expose the quality of the workmanship of the house of God builders, distinguishing between those who do the will of the Lord and those who don't.
Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. 21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'  Matthew 7:20-23
How did you fare in that year? Personally, I found it very humbling. I think another view of the "flood" test appears in the symbol of a boatload of disciples on the sea of Galilee to representing a group of disciples during the watches of the night. The flood of water as a torrent confronts them as the waves sweep over the boat.
Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!" 26 He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. 27 The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!"  Matthew 8:23-27
This is a furious storm, one that caused these Galileans, some of whom were fishermen used to the lake, to fear for their lives. What's that all about? Prophecy - end time prophecy. Here's a similar scenario.
That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let us go over to the other side." 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" 39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. 40 He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" 41 They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!" Mark 4:35-41
There were other boats with him in this account, which is to say that there is an acknowledgment that there are several distinct groups of people "on the lake" that are "with him" during this stage of the Famine week. I infer that there has been no Bride theft yet, that the Bride's boat was yet with him. This is obviously the case at the present. This squall that nearly swamped their boat tested the disciples' faith. They did finally call upon the Lord and wake him up. The Lord saved them from the present disaster. He rebuked the wind (as always, wind is a spirit type), spoke to the waves and it became completely calm. These disciples who were tested by the storm and found to have little faith didn't trust in the Lord's great ability. They didn't know what kind of man he was that the winds and the waves obeyed him. What kind of disciples are these who know so little about their Lord? These are the kind of disciples whose Lord is asleep on a cushion in the stern until they finally call upon him in a crisis. He's not awake, leading them from the bow of the boat. They've let him sleep in the stern, on a cushion. Isn't that nice. Did you notice that peculiar detail in verse 36, that they took him along "just as he was"? How was their Jesus before they entered this time of trial if not as we see him in the boat - asleep on a cushion? These are the kind of disciples who don't know their Lord's power because they haven't built the kind of trust relationship that comes with faithful obedience. This is the kind of church that hears the word and doesn't put it into practice. These in this boat, though, do call on him and are spared as he answers their plea for help. I wonder how some of the other boatloads of disciples fared???

I'm going to ask a personal question, friend. Was that or is that your kind of church? Are you in the boat with Jesus asleep on a cushion in the stern? Jump ship. Get on board a ship with Jesus awake in the bow. Follow him. Put his words into practice now. Are you being convicted of hypocrisy, or have you rather been comforted by the encouragement of reading clearly here what the spirit has already been revealing to you? Whatever your state, resolve to build your foundation on the rock through obedience, so that when trials come, your house will remain.

I had anticipated that there was going to be a literal global trial for this world's inhabitants particularly focused on the comfortable church as judgment began to be poured out, and I was surprised not to see that. What had appeared to be high potential for this coming in the form of Y2K bug disaster didn't pan out, and I must say I was relieved but yet a little disturbed because I know judgment is due. In hindsight, what I observed I'm not sure I understand, but it seemed to be kind of a drill. Anyhow, rather than seeing a great flood kind of test, I saw a different kind of testing phase for the Bride candidates. The year was for me a long dry spell - unexpected and so very odd. I know it was anything but for many of you, but I also know there were a great many more who can relate to what I'm saying who had the same kind of test where the Lord was unusually distant. After not seeing what I had expected in the flood event, I was disappointed and more than a little confused about what the Lord might be up to. It has taken me until fairly recently to get over it.

Before I express my insights into what the Lord was up to, I'm going to present the following to show that others had been led down that same road of expectation. Like I said, the Y2K threat seems like it was intended as kind of a drill.

Note: I received the following from Jim Bramlett, an Internet friend and brother in the Lord's service. Bob

An e-mail friend sent me this today, obtained on December 29, 1999 from her discussion group.  It contains further Jewish insights into the current Jewish year 5760, about which we have found other prophetic implications. Keep in mind that these ancient Jewish sources are not Scripture and may not be from God, but they are interesting in light of things we do know from Scripture. Jim Bramlett
THE LAND OF ISRAEL WILL BE AN ARK OF SALVATION FOR THOSE JEWS WHO MERIT TO SURVIVE.
The Escape Route is Still Open - For Now By Avraham Sheinman Director of Operation Homeward
A few years ago I came across a small, modest-looking booklet entitled Lech Lecha: "The Obligation of Aliyah to the Land of Israel," written by a revered Jewish scholar, Rabbi Mordechai Atiyazt. Besides citing the usual statements from the Talmud and other classic texts on the immense value and obligation of every Jew to live in Israel, this booklet also brought to light many lesser known passages from more esoteric sources.

I happened upon one passage that was quoted in a number of kabbalistic treatises of the past and also in the Yalkut Reuveni. Here's what is said: "In the (Jewish) year 5760, the depths will rise up and flood the world, and there will remain the Land of Israel, which will be like the Ark of Noah."

My initial reaction was to disregard this statement, for it didn't seem to make sense. I thought the rainbow was a Divine sign that another flood, like Noah's, would never come to pass.  Moreover, this idea was highly apocalyptic; not something anyone, including myself, wanted to take to heart. Nevertheless it came from, and was cited in, a number of genuine Jewish texts. It could not just simply be dismissed.

So I checked further and was surprised to learn that the Divine promise ruling out another flood applied only to a flood over the entire world - a total destruction. I also discovered that the term, "flood" could also mean a "flood of troubles or catastrophes". I decided to check my calendar: The Jewish year 5760 overlapped into the secular, or Gregorian Year of 2000. And then the thought occurred to me: Was this a forewarning of some sort of global disaster in the year 2000?

Months later, I mentioned the 5760 issue to a rabbi. His reply? "Let me show you what it says in the book, 'Chesed L'Avraham!" So, together we entered the kabbalistic world of the illustrious Rabbi Avraham Azuli, the great, great grandfather of the famed, Chida. In chapter 59, on the Secrets of the Mikvah, it explained how the amount of water in a mikvah (a ritual bath that removes spiritual impurity) measures 5760 eggs (a talmudic measure of volume), and that this number was a cryptic clue behind an awesome event that could strike the world - a type of global cleansing that will remove, "the forces of impurity, as mentioned in the Zohar." And when, according to Chesed L'Avraham, could this cleansing occur? "At the end of 5760 years of Creation."

This matter continued to bother me, but as usual, life went on. With the exception of a few individuals, these sources, and others, warning about the year 5760/2000 did not really shake anyone, including many rabbis that I spoke to. Due to the lack of an obvious, tangible, precipitating crisis; or because I was "missing a scenario," the issue was put aside.  None of us knew of anything unusual or catastrophic forecasted for Year 2000.

Then, in the summer of 1998, I received a large envelope from my brother-in-law in Pittsburgh. It contained information on the Year 2000 Computer Crisis, known as the Y2K Millennium Bug.  I reviewed the wealth of material inside. It indicated that Y2K posed a mortal threat to the economic and social stability of the entire world.  Even more astonishing, were the multitude of dire predictions that were coming from stable, mainstream individuals in industry and government  - not cranks or doomsday survivalists. People like Charles Rossotti, Commissioner of the U.S. IRS who said, "If we don't fix the century-date problem we will have a situation scarier the average disaster movie you might see on a Sunday night;" or, IBM spokesperson, Debra Taufen who testified before the U.S. Congress claiming, that, "many people feel that Y2K is all hype and they will not be affected" and that "the failure of any one business partner in the supply chain can cause a slowdown, if not a complete stoppage of work for companies down the line," or Ed Yardeni, chief economist of Deutche Morgan Securities (and one of Wall Street's most prominent analysts) who insisted: "Let's stop pretending Y2K isn't a major threat to our way of life. There's too much at stake for such uninformed wishful thinking. I say we must act as if we were preparing for war."

During the next few weeks I invested many hours in further research of the Y2K issue. Since then, I gradually have been overtaken by a deep sense of urgency. The unknown piece of the puzzle; that "missing scenario" had begun to surface. In my mind, the countdown to danger, cited in our ancient Jewish texts, was clearly in progress.

I went with some colleagues to present my conclusions to a very special rabbi in the Old City of Jerusalem. Not only did he concur with our opinion, but he showed us something else: The Bible Codes which he referred to, appeared to indicate a number of potential disasters and tragedies throughout the world during the Jewish year 5760.

Neither I, nor any of the others mentioned above, wish to be seen as a "mystical doomsayers". None of us claim to be hearing words from G-d, no one is predicting the end of the world, nor is anyone specifying a date for the coming of the Messiah. But we are saying that certain Jewish sources indicate that in a matter of time, natural disasters, man-made catastrophes and international conflicts could visit the world in unprecedented frequency and intensity. These events might be so unusual, frequent and widespread that the very economic, social and psychological foundations of today's man, and his society, will be shaken. And these occurrences could start soon - in, and around, the Jewish year of 5760.

"Everything is foreseen, yet the freedom of choice is given. The world is judged with goodness, and everything depends on the abundance of good deeds. (Pirket Avot 3:19). Only the Prophets' and Torah predictions of "good" must come about; the direpredictions and prophecies are stated as potentials. Man's "abundance of good deeds" will obviate the need for tragedy and disaster. However, in the event that we do not measure up to our calling, these potentials could become realities.

If it is true that the Land of Israel could become like an "ark of Noah," or will be spared from the worse part of the tragedies predicted to strike the world; might we venture to make a further assumption? Could it be that Jewish life in the Diaspora (the lands outside of Israel) will be threatened, and those Jews who remain there will be caught, G-d forbid, in a deathtrap?

As you know y2k came and went with barely a hitch - miraculous. No flood, though there were local types of floods in various parts of the US and around the world. Nothing of a major global trial appeared.

Instead, the activity I spiritually discerned is that the Lord was still particularly focused upon preparing his Bride. Again, there was a long "dry spell" for many people, contrasting ironically with the expected flood of water. The land of Israel also was in a most severe drought. What came to mind from the scriptures while updating this article was Ephesians 5 and 1 Peter 3, which both have to do with the Bride preparation, the washing of water and there is also the flood of Noah's day.
For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, 19 through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison 20 who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, 21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also--not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand--with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.  I Peter 3:18-22
Consider what we find written earlier in the chapter. I believe we will find Ephesians 5 is the key to why these two seemingly unconnected issues are bound together in 1 Peter 3. It's about the Bride / Bridegroom relationship, submission, the Bride's adornment and appearance, with the related theme of the washing of water / the pledge of a good conscience toward God.
Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, 2 when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. 3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. 4 Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. 5 For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands, 6 like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear. 7 Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.  I Peter 3:1-7

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. 22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing [2] her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church-- 30 for we are members of his body. 31 "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." 32 This is a profound mystery--but I am talking about Christ and the church.33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.  Ephesians 5:21-33
That is a profound mystery about the Bride. I think that washing of water by the word to cleanse the Bride like the baptism in Noah's day is really what the second watch of the night water was about - and I believe that was the year 5760.

The Third Watch

I began updating this study with no idea what kind of evidence there was to be seen in these four months of the year 5761 that matches up with the third Creation Day or Millennial Day. So far, I still don't know of any evidence in how they match up to validate that we are presently in the third watch of the night. However, I did make a discovery I think you'll find noteworthy and rather remarkable. With an expectation that the third watch will follow the pattern set in the third Creation Day, I began to flip through some passages I knew applied to the third watch of the night and found the theme in almost every Bride Theft / sealing and commission of the 144000 I've written about so far. You'll find the land, or the land and the sea, or the shore that separates the dry land from the sea, or the land and the sea and the trees, etc. I think the point is made that the third day of creation is an appointed resurrection day - the one for the Bride theft. There is more study to be done, but here's what I've got. Enjoy!
And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good. 11 Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning--the third day.  Genesis 1:9-13
From the short 8 verse Psalm that is the Psalm for the year 2001. Note two references to the land and the focus on the differences or separation.
Psalm 101:6 and 8: My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; he whose walk is blameless will minister to me. 8 Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the LORD.

In the key chronology verse where Joseph reveals his identity to his brothers.
Genesis 45:6: For two years now there has been famine in the land, and for the next five years there will not be plowing and reaping.

From Revelation 7, just prior to the sealing of the 144,000.
Revelation 7:1-3: After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: 3 "Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God."

From John 21, a bride theft / sealing of the 144,000 scenario. What is the shore but the dividing of the land from the water? Jesus remains on the shore during the whole scenario.
Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.

Peter when he received the vision of the end of the age Bride Theft received it while on the rooftop of Simon the tanners house by the sea.
Acts 10:5-6: Now send men to Joppa to bring back a man named Simon who is called Peter. 6 He is staying with Simon the tanner, whose house is by the sea.

The end of the age concluding feeding of the five thousand prophetic scenario took place on the shore as well. I note another noteworthy trend here - that of mentioning the night watches in the immediate context of reference to the land and the sea.
Mark 6:32: So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place. 33 But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them. 34 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.
Mark 6:44: The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand. 45 Immediately Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd.
48 ... About the fourth watch of the night

From the Exodus, perhaps the primary Bride Theft pattern, notice the role of the wind and the direction specified - and compare to the record of Revelation 7. Still in the context of the Exodus but following the dry ground and sea / division of waters references we find a rather conspicuous reference to trees as well.
Exodus 14:16: Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.
Exodus 14:21-22: Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, 22 and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.
Exodus 14:24 During the last watch of the night...
Exodus 14:29: But the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left
Exodus 15:27: Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there near the water.

With reference to the Exodus, Haggai 2, one of my favorite Bride Theft / commissioning of the 144,000 scenarios has the following example. You may notice some similarity between verse 19 and the third Creation day verse Genesis 1:12 (The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.)
Haggai 2:4-6: But now be strong, O Zerubbabel,' declares the LORD. `Be strong, O Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,' declares the LORD, `and work. For I am with you,' declares the LORD Almighty. 5 `This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.' 6 "This is what the LORD Almighty says: `In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land.
Haggai 2:19: Is there yet any seed left in the barn? Until now, the vine and the fig tree, the pomegranate and the olive tree have not borne fruit. "From this day on I will bless you."

Elijah being taken up in a whirlwind is another Bride Theft scenario.
II Kings 2:7-8: Fifty men of the company of the prophets went and stood at a distance, facing the place where Elijah and Elisha had stopped at the Jordan. 8 Elijah took his cloak, rolled it up and struck the water with it. The water divided to the right and to the left, and the two of them crossed over on dry ground.

Joshua 3's account of the crossing over the Jordan into the promised land is yet another example.
Joshua 3:11-17: See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you. 12 Now then, choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe. 13 And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the LORD--the Lord of all the earth--set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap." 14 So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them. 15 Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water's edge, 16 the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea [2] ) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho. 17 The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground.
